The Power of Showers
Looking for a way to get your fiancé more involved in pre-wedding festivities? Break the more traditional mold and concentrate on the following showers the two of you can share:
Have someone from his side of the family host a wall-to-wall shower for you both. Gift items can be registry picks such as lamps, throw rugs, pictures/photo frames, clocks or any accessory you are seeking for your new home.

Ready for a shower and a party all in one? Allow a couple very close to you host a Stock the Bar evening event. Guests can bring glassware, Bar ware, fun hor's doeuvres plates, alcohol, monogrammed cocktail napkins, you name it!
Here's a twist on the usual, did I say Twist(er)? Try a Couples
Shower where fun is the only agenda! Gifts can lean towards games
or CD's you both enjoy, certificates to favorite restaurants, tickets
for a play, comedy club dates, or how about a car wash kit?
Yes, we are suggesting this one. Ladies, use this day for your
lingerie shower and let the Best Man host an all male Tool Time
get together. Encourage your sweetheart to register
at Sears, Home Depot, Lowe's, Target. The men will love
playing Tim Allen with no gals around! My husband's favorite gifts
from our wedding were those gift cards from the large home improvement
warehouses. Guys love to shop when it's "their" department!
Are you the kitchen flunkie while your man is the Master Chef?
Consider a couples Pampered
Chef party where guests can see and purchase the latest
kitchen (toys) you'll need for when the honeymoon is over. Pampered
Chef does in home parties, has tons of great kitchen items to choose
from, and whoever hosts the event can earn the freebie points a
certain amount of sales $$$ offers the host.
Last but not least- how about a Sports Center shower? This event
can be planned around a basketball game, golf tourney, tennis match!
When the break in the game comes-the gifts can be opened. Need new
racquetball equipment, croquet set, volleyball, soccer, baseball
items? Now is the time to register for that two man tent!
Remember all you spouses-in-waiting; it is important to grab fun
opportunities as they arise. Mix those opportunities with friends,
fun and some laughter and pre-wedding stresses will remain fairly
low.
