Honeymoon Happenings

Honeymoon

Once we've conquered our nerves over the vows, the toast is raised, our feet are swollen from the dance floor and every guest has been greeted; the true fun begins! The stress is tossed to the wind and we (the newlyweds) are ready for the real party to begin, of course, the HONEYMOON. Here's the best idea:

Let your guests pay for your dream getaway with your new mate! The hottest continuing honeymoon trend is to register for your honeymoon. With so many couples already living together prior to their stroll down the proverbial aisle, many have collected the cookware and traditional wedding gifts. It's fun to register for a getaway rather than another "katschkie" to dust.

Either choose a reputable local travel company or an internet travel site that provides for couples' Registries and pick your dream getaway. Couples can register not only for airfare and hotel, but also any activities that they are interested in. These activities can include breakfast in bed, snorkeling, scuba diving, golfing, a night out on the town and much, much more.

Estimate the total cost of the honeymoon and be prepared to pay the difference if guests are unable to cover total cost expenditures. Then inform your parents and close friends so that as guests inquire, they may direct them to the travel company.

Gift Cards can be issued by the company or website so that guests may sign their names and wish you both well without having assigned a dollar amount. This way, everyone can participate and you can use your money to either spend towards the wedding itself, or squirrel it away for a down payment on a new home.
